What is a Home Health Aide?

A home health aide is a type of caregiver who offers assistance performing day-to-day tasks. Home health aides visit clients in their homes on a daily or as needed basis, assisting them with tasks such as grooming, getting dressed, bathing, and other hygiene needs. They may also perform light housekeeping duties, such as washing and folding laundry as well as preparing meals. The goal of a home health aide is to assist in completing the tasks needed for their clients to stay safe while maintaining independence in their own homes.

Your Home Health Aide

Independent Life Home Care is committed to pairing each client with a home health aide who can meet their daily needs while providing priceless companionship. Matching our clients to the right caregiver plays a significant role in developing a successful caregiving relationship.

During our initial consultation together, the Independent Life Home Care staff invests time in getting to know you. It is important to us that we have a thorough understanding of your preferences, likes, and dislikes, as well as a strong feel for your personality so that we can pair you with a home health aide or team of home health aides who are compatible with you on a personal level. We feel this compatibility will help ensure a fulfilling relationship with your home health aide; conversation and companionship are just two of the valuable benefits you’ll gain when working with an Independent Life Home Care home health aide.

All Independent Life Home Care home health aides are highly skilled in performing personal and home care duties. Each member of our team has undergone a thorough background check for the safety of the clients they work with. We take great care to make sure our staff members are well-qualified in order to provide the high level of care that our clients expect.

  • Dad really struggled to stay active after Mom passed, I think he felt a bit burdened by all he had to do. His caregiver stepped in to assist with household chores and to help him with his needs, and I think that made quite a difference in improving his quality of life. That companionship and mental stimulation seemed to help him carry on, doing the things he loved.
